Mouchão Fortified Tonel Aged 2013

Fortified dessert wines have been made at Mouchão for over 100 years. This wine is produced exclusively from Alicante Bouschet grapes and is trodden under foot in traditional presses. Halfway through fermentation, pure, young, high-quality wine spirit is added to it, interrupting it and allowing part of the sugar in the grapes to remain naturally present. Ageing is done in old wooden barrels and sharks for at least five years.
The result is a fortified wine that shows a delicious balance between the aroma of black olives, prunes, cocoa, and dried fruits, and the freshness of mint and eucalyptus.
