where it all started

Folha do Meio (“Middle Leaf”) is a small winery set up in 2009, in Alegrete, in the Upper Alentejo.
The wines are named after the vineyard plot where the grapes come from.

humble beginnings

The first harvest was in 2008 with grapes coming from a vineyard located in Besteiros, within the São Mamede Natural Park. This was a mature vineyard, with vines planted in schistose soils, at altitudes between 500 to 600 metres.
