Climate:Wines present a vibrant character due to its specific terroir, dominated by sea storms and southern influence of Sintra’s Hills. A temper region, located above the Atlantic Ocean, providing fresh and salty wines, with a light structure and high acidity. Vines planted in clay-limestone soil, sustained on free vines and winemaking.
- Vinification:Grapes are meticulously selected, destemmed, and gently pressed. Cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
Ageing:Fermented in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine aged 3 months in an old barrel of chestnut and mahogany.
- Tasting notes:The Pirata da Viúva illustrates the new discoveries on the Atlantic coast of Sintra. An irreverent wine from selected plots of clay-limestone, sustained on free vines and winemaking. This is a single varietal of Castelão, aged 3 months in an old barrel of chestnut and mahogany. Fresh and tense.
